Come sing with us!
Joining the Wasatch Chorale does require an audition, but it's a fairly painless process. Auditions for our 2024-2025 50th Anniversary season will be held on Aug. 21st from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Provo Community Congregational United Church of Christ, 175 N. University Avenue, Provo. We are especially in need of Tenor and Bass voices.
The season will then begin in August and run through June 2025. Given this is an iconic anniversary year, we have concerts planned for SLC, Murray, Provo, and Orem, as well as a 50th Anniversary Tour to New York City.
If you are interested, please fill out an audition application at https://tinyurl.com/WCAudition.

FAQs
What happens during an audition?
In your audition, your vocal range will be tested to see which section is best for you. Next you will sing either a prepared piece, hymn, or My Country Tis of Thee. Then you'll be asked to sight-read a few lines of music, and you're done!
Can I watch one of your rehearsals before auditioning?
Yes, usually--during the audition time on August 21, the choir will be meeting to discuss the upcoming season and doing only a little vocal rehearsal. We rehearse Wednesday nights during our season (see the next answer) from 7-9 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Provo Community Church. Come watch a rehearsal and get to know us!
How much time is required to be in the choir?
The season runs from late August to late May. There are about 5-6 concerts each season. Rehearsals are every Wednesday night from 7-9 p.m. at Provo Community Church, and attendance is required to participate in the concerts.
What are the costs to be in the choir?
Membership tuition is $120 each season; $60 if you join mid-season. You also need a performance outfit, which is about $100, but if you have clothing that matches the group then you might not need to buy the full ensemble. Choir members do not need to pay for music, with the possible exception of the Masterwork score. The choir will also be going on a New York City tour for this, the 50th season. This tour will take place at the beginning of June 2025. Each choir member will be responsible to pay for this. It is estimated that the cost for this will be between $2000 and $2500 per person. You can bring a plus one for the same cost. There will be several fundraising opportunities available to help raise those funds.
